
Field Events Highlight Top Performances at NDSU Tune-Up

FARGO, N.D. – The throwers and jump squad led the North Dakota State men's track & field team at the NDSU Tune-Up on Friday afternoon at the Terry and Donna Dahl Track and Field complex.
Kaden Pastian won the hammer throw with a mark of 196-02.00 (59.79m). Jack Packer finished second with 183-03.00 (55.86m) and Logan Arason took third in a personal-best 180-07.00 (55.06m).
Pastian also won the discus throw in a season-best 177-06 (54.11m). Arason was the runner-up throwing 156-11 (47.84m) and Paul Hoekman placed fourth with a personal-best 148-04 (45.23m).
Packer won the shot put title, throwing 56-00 (17.07m). Josiah Zilmer threw 54-00 (16.46m) to claim third. Zach Lilly took second in the javelin with a mark of 200-10 (61.23m). Ryder Bickett finished third, throwing 183-07 (55.96m).
Zach McGlynn won the long jump, leaping 24-01.75 (7.36m). Paul Olson finished second with a mark of 23-04.75 (7.13m). Adam Myren matched his season best 6-05.00 (1.96m) to finish second in the high jump.
Carlton Mukurazita took first place in the triple jump, leaping 47-07.00 (14.50m). Lorenzo Andrews finished second, jumping 45-11.75 (14.01m).
Freshman Taylor Wanner, who is running unattached, won the 1500m in 3:56.98. Jonah Dafoe was the runner-up, finishing in a personal-best 3:59.78. Ryan Fick claimed third in a personal-best 4:04.66.
Brooks Turner claimed the 110m hurdle title in 14.00. Trey Heinrich was the runner-up, finishing in a personal-best 14.12 to move to No. 10 all-time. Trey Knoke finished third in a career-best 14.14 to climb to No. 11 in NDSU history.
Jeran McNichols won the 100m dash in a wind-aided 10.49 (+4.5 m/s). The mark would rank No. 10 in NDSU history if wind-legal. Tyler Milkes took third in 10.63, with Jayden Murdock finishing fourth in 10.77 and Lucas McNichols placing fifth. Murdock placed second in the 200m dash, running 21.60.
Josh Berger won the 400m in 50.57. Carter Elde finished as the runner-up in the 400m hurdles, clocking 54.12. Joshua Beil took third in 55.48 and Chris Hilton placed fifth in a personal-best 56.14.
