NDSU Soccer Continues Home Stand Sunday vs Washington State

FARGO, N.D. - North Dakota State soccer remains at home on Sunday, August 23, as the Bison welcome in Pac-12 foe Washington State for the fourth of six-straight home games to begin the season. Kickoff between the Bison and the Cougars is set for 1 p.m. at Dacotah Field.

Admission & Parking
Admission to all NDSU soccer home matches is FREE. Parking is available in Lot R west of Dacotah Field after 4:30 p.m. on Thursdays and all day on Sunday. Additional parking is available in Fargodome lots C and D.
Series History
The Bison will face Washington State for just the third time in program history, including the first-ever meeting at Dacotah Field. Washington State has won both previous meetings, including a 2-0 victory in Pullman last September. The Cougars won 5-0 in September of 2016, also in Pullman.
Last Year vs Washington State
NDSU dropped a 2-0 road decision to Washington State on a Thursday evening at Lower Soccer Field.
The Bison held the Cougars scoreless from open play for much of the night, but Washington State capitalized on a penalty kick goal from Maggie Mace in the 29th minute to take the lead. NDSU nearly found equalizers on multiple occasions until the 83rd minute, when the Cougars added an insurance tally on a counter attack goal from Abigail Siddall.
Morgan Russmann finished with three shots, including one late in the first half that forced a team save. Hannah Arnold added two second-half attempts that narrowly missed the target. The first sailed just wide of the post and the second hit the crossbar.
Russmann Returns to Scoresheet
After being held off the scoresheet during the opening week, Morgan Russmann grabbed her first goal of the campaign against Minnesota on Thursday. Russmann now has 18 career goals, sixth in NDSU's D1 era.
Mulberry Nabs Rare Goalkeeper Assist
Payton Mulberry picked up her first career assist against Minnesota, recording the secondary assist on Russmann's goal. She is the first Bison goalkeeper to record an assist since Abby Wilkinson against Western Illinois on February 21, 2021.
DeSena Records First Point
Freshman Abby DeSena picked up her first career point against Minnesota. DeSena settled a free kick from goalkeeper Payton Mulberry and found Russmann to set up the opening goal of the game.
Looking Ahead
North Dakota State's home stand continues as the Bison welcome in Prairie View A&M on Thursday, August 27. The Bison and Lady Panthers will meet for the first time in series history, with kickoff set for a 6 p.m. kickoff at Dacotah Field.
