Roberts Paces Bison Women’s Golf on Day One of Yellowstone Intercollegiate

BOZEMAN, Mont. – Norah Roberts sits tied for fifth place as the North Dakota State women's golf team wrapped up the first day of action at the Yellowstone Intercollegiate at Riverside Country Club.
The Bison compiled rounds of 299 (+11) and 295 (+7) for a total of 594 (+18), finishing eight strokes off the lead in third place. Montana State (289-297--586) is on top of the leaderboard, while Weber State (301-291--592) in second place.
Roberts (73-73--146) stayed consistent throughout the first 36 holes, closing the day in a tie for 5th place at +2 overall. She carded three birdies in round one, including two on the back nine that contributed to a one-under 35. She played her final 10 holes in round two at even-par, grabbing eight pars and a birdie on her way to a three-way tie in fifth. It is the third time in her last four tournament rounds that Roberts has finished at +1 or better.
Belle Kongshaug (76-74--150) and Hannah Dunk (76-74--150) carded identical rounds of four-over and two-over on their way to a seven-way tie in 15th. Kongshaug picked up two birdies in both rounds along with 13 pars on the second round of the day. Dunk followed suit with 14 pars in round two, including seven on an even-par back nine.
Avery Bartels (77-74--151) closed in a tie for 22nd at +7 overall. Bartels' day was highlighted by the tail end of the back nine in round two. After a birdie on the 16th hole, she carded her second eagle of the season with a three on the par-five 18th.
Jeri Lafleche (74-78--152) finished in a tie for 26th at +8 overall. Lafleche birdied three of her first nine holes in round one, firing a back nine score of two-under.
Bella Leonhart (82-79--161) currently sits in a tie for 56th at +17 overall. Competing as an individual, Leonhart birdied holes 14 and 18 on her way to an even-par back nine in round two.
