Biography

2022 SEASON (JUNIOR): Played in all 15 games including two starts against Western Illinois and Incarnate Word...Made 36 total tackles and had two pass breakups...Recovered a fumble in the road win over South Dakota...Season-high five tackles in back-to-back NCAA playoff wins over Samford in the quarterfinals and Incarnate Word in the semifinals.

2021 SEASON (SOPHOMORE): Played all 15 games including one start Indiana State...Made a season-high four tackles against the Sycamores...Credited with 13 total tackles including one forced fumble...Had two pass breakups.

2020-21 SEASON (FRESHMAN): Played in all 10 games, including six starts at free safety in place of injured Dawson Weber...Led the Bison with three interceptions and was fifth on the team with 34 total tackles...Intercepted passes in back-to-back home wins over Illinois State and North Dakota, and in the NCAA first round playoff win over Eastern Washington...Recovered a fumble in the win at Missouri State...Career-high eight tackles, all solo, in the loss at Southern Illinois.

2019 SEASON (REDSHIRT): Took a redshirt season with the Bison...Played in one game against South Dakota.

HIGH SCHOOL: 2019 graduate of Peachtree Ridge High School...Three-time letterman and two-year starter...Team captain his senior year...Played cornerback and safety for coach Reginald Stancil...All-region and all-county first team in 2018 after making 56 tackles with three interceptions and 10 pass breakups...Starting cornerback in the Rivalries of Gwinnett all-star game...Second team all-region as a junior...Made eight career interceptions with 25 pass breakups.

PERSONAL: Majoring in communications...Son of Darnel and Monique Jones...Has three brothers, all Division I athletes...Darnel Jr. played basketball at Savannah State, Monte football at Kennesaw State, and Montel track and field at Western Carolina...His uncle, Joseph Jones, played basketball at Bismarck State.
