Ben Schneweis is in his second year as director of soccer operations at North Dakota State. He comes to Fargo after four years as an assistant coach for both the men’s and women’s programs at Bellarmine University in Louisville, Ky. While at Bellarmine, the women's team advanced to the NCAA tournament for the first time in program history in 2009.
As director of soccer operations, Schneweis will help arrange team travel, coordinate film exchange, chart statistics, assist with scheduling and perform other administrative tasks.
While in Kentucky, Schneweis also served as the general manager for the Mockingbird Valley Soccer Club. As general manager, he oversaw all indoor and outdoor youth and adult programs and also was the head coach of the MVSC 92 girls team, which has won four state titles.
He has also coached in the Olympic Development Program in both Kentucky and North Dakota and has had two stints as an assistant boys and girls coach at Red River High School in Grand Forks. While at Red River High School, the girls team won the state title in 2004 and the boys won it in 2005.
He spent the summer of 2005 as assistant director of programs with Coerver Coaching in Scotland.
He played one season for Brescia University in Owensboro, Ky. in 2002.
Schneweis holds a USSF National ‘B’ coaching license and received his Bachelors of Arts in English from North Dakota in 2005. He is currently working towards his Masters degree in Higher Educational Leadership.
