Mike Kjellerson

Mike Kjellerson

Mike Kjellerson, a former undergraduate and graduate student in the North Dakota State University athletic training program, was hired as assistant athletic trainer in 2009 and is now the assistant athletic director for sports medicine.

As the athletic trainer for Bison cross country and wrestling, Kjellerson has worked with teams that have produced multiple conference championships and All-Americans.

Kjellerson was an athletic training student from 2003-07 and a graduate assistant with the NDSU baseball team from 2007-09.

He earned a bachelor's degree in athletic training from NDSU in 2007 and completed a master's degree in health, nutrition and exercise science at NDSU in 2009.

Kjellerson is pursuing a Ph.D. in exercise science and nutrition at NDSU. He was named 2015 Preceptor of the Year in by the NDSU athletic training education program.

A native of Williston, N.D., he earned an associate's degree in art from Williston State College before coming to Fargo.

He and his wife, Mykke, have one son, Carsen, and one daughter, Ashlyn.
