
Jacks Forfeit to Bison After Snow Delay

FARGO, N.D.--South Dakota State declined to continue playing after a 43-minute snow delay and the result was a 7-0 win by forfeit for North Dakota State in college baseball Sunday, May 1.
The first game of the teams' doubleheader at Newman Outdoor Field was tied at 1-1 in the bottom of the third inning and North Dakota State had the bases loaded with no outs and a 2-2 count on shortstop Matt Mossey when the game was stopped due to driving snow out of the north.
Once the snow stopped and the field was prepared to continue play, South Dakota State was leaving the stadium.
Game time temperature was near 40 degrees and the temperature dipped into the upper 30s near the time of cancellation.
North Dakota State was credited with a team win to improve to 4-34-1 on the year. South Dakota State took a loss and is now 15-30 overall.
Neither team's individual statistics in the game will count.
North Dakota State is scheduled to host Concordia College (Minn.) for a single nine-inning game Monday, May 2, beginning at 6 p.m. at Newman Outdoor Field.
