
Woodside, Winkelman Shoot Bison to Third Road Win at Winston-Salem State

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP)--Ben Woodside and Brett Winkelman each scored a game-high 22 points to help North Dakota State defeat Winston-Salem State 87-63 on Saturday.
Andre Smith added 17 points and Mike Nelson finished with 16 points for the Bison (11-6), who shot a season-high 69.4 percent from the field. Winkelman pulled down a game-high nine rebounds.
North Dakota State had a 45-33 lead at the break before the Bison extended their lead to as many as 26 points with 2:13 remaining.
The Bison hit 80 percent from beyond the arc and snapped a two-game winning streak for Winston-Salem State (3-19).
Winston-Salem State hit 40 percent of its field goal attempts, went 31.3 percent on 3-pointers and finished 52.6 percent from the free throw line.
Darius Floyd led the Rams with 21 points, while Brian Fisher added 12 points and Jamal Durham scored 10.
NDSU is now 3-5 on the road this season, one win better than last year's total of two road victories.
North Dakota State returns home to host Texas-Pan American on Thursday and Utah Valley State on Saturday. Tipoff is set for 7 o'clock both nights.
