
Wright, Bison Tip Dragons In Overtime for 72-67 Exhibition Win

FARGO, N.D. - TrayVonn Wright scored seven of his 16 points in overtime to lead North Dakota State to a 72-67 win over Minnesota State Moorhead in exhibition men's basketball Saturday, Nov. 3, before a crowd of 2,156 at the Bison Sports Arena.
Taylor Braun led NDSU with 19 points, nine rebounds, three assists and three steals. Lawrence Alexander scored 16 points and Marshall Bjorklund had 10 points and seven rebounds for the Bison.
Former Iowa Hawkeye Anthony Tucker had 21 points, eight rebounds and four assists for the Dragons, who are picked to win the north division of the Northern Sun Conference.
Wright's dunk with 3:02 left in overtime capped a six-point run by the Bison after the teams ended regulation tied 59-59. MSUM answered with a Tyler Vaughan 3-pointer and Wright got the lead back to six with a 3-pointer of his own.
NDSU led 29-21 at halftime before MSUM started the second half on an 8-0 run capped by a Tucker 3-pointer two minutes into the period.
MSUM led for most of the second half after Eric Olson converted a three-point play at the 13:28 mark to give the Dragons a 39-37 lead. Alexander's jumper with 16 seconds left tied the game and Tucker missed a 3-pointer with 3 seconds left in regulation.
NDSU had a 38-31 edge in total rebounds and outscored MSUM 19-7 at the foul line. The Dragons shot 46.3 percent overall including 10 three-pointers and the Bison shot 42.1 percent overall.
North Dakota State opens the regular season at home against Valley City State at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9.
