MARTIN, Tenn. - David Ernst pitched all seven innings and Wes Satzinger drove in three runs to lift North Dakota State to a 5-0 win at Tennessee-Martin in the second game of a college baseball doubleheader Sunday, March 3.

UT Martin won the opener 3-2 with a leadoff double in the ninth from Phil Sorenson and a bases-loaded single by Grant Glasser. NDSU's John Straka had nine strikeouts in eight innings and closer Kyle Kingsley dropped to 0-1.

Ernst allowed only one runner past first base on a pair of infield errors with two outs in the fifth inning. He gave up three hits, walked two and struck out four to up his record to 2-1.

Tim Colwell was 4-for-4 with two doubles, a triple and two RBIs for NDSU in the victory. He had a chance to hit for the cycle in the sixth when he connected for a two-run double to push NDSU's lead to 5-0.

Satzinger cleared the bases with a double in the NDSU fifth after Colwell led off with a two-out triple, Tate Leapaldt reached on catcher's interference and pinch hitter Kirk Kenneally drew a base on balls.

NDSU jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the opener when Colwell hit a two-out single in the first inning and scored on Blake Turbak's single. Turbak singled and scored with two outs on Satzinger's hit in the fourth for a 2-1 lead.

The Skyhawks (4-6) got game-tying sac flies from Matt Haynes in the second and Nico Zych in the fourth. Reliever Chris Ross retired nine of the 10 batters he faced over the final three innings and improved to 2-0 with the win.

North Dakota State is 4-5 heading into its annual spring break trip where the Bison will play eight games in the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational beginning Saturday, March 9, in the Winter Haven area.
