WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – The North Dakota State baseball team picked up 14 hits and took advantage of six errors in a 15-2 victory over Harvard Wednesday, March 19, in the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational at Chain of Lakes Park.

NDSU (7-8) had six run-producing hits in the first two innings to take an early lead and never trailed the Crimson (2-11).

Senior Kyle Kleinendorst and junior David Ernst hit RBI singles and senior Michael Leach hit a two-run single that put the Bison out front 4-1. NDSU extended its lead to 8-1 in the second off senior Wes Satzinger's two-run single, senior Blake Turbak's RBI double and a RBI triple by Kleinendorst.

The Bison scored another run in the third and four in the sixth to put the game out of reach.

NDSU junior Trent Keefer (2-2) went five innings and picked up the victory by allowing one run on six hits with two strikeouts and four walks. Freshman Reed Pfannenstein pitched two innings of relief and gave up one run and one hit.

Kleinendorst and Satzinger had three hits apiece for the Bison with Kleinendorst driving in and scoring three, while Satzinger drove in two and scored twice. Turbak was the only other NDSU player with a multi-hit game, while Leach had three RBIs and Ernst scored twice.

Sophomores Jon Hechtner and Aiden Hook had a hit and RBI each for the Bison.

Harvard's Kevin Rex registered his first loss on the season after lasting two innings. Jack Colton and Nick Saathoff were the only Crimson with multi-hit games.

The Bison play a second game against Harvard Thursday, March 20, at Chain of Lakes Park in Winter Haven, Fla., at 3 p.m. ET/2 p.m. CT.
