
NDSU Men Post Multiple League Leaders in California

STANFORD, Calif. – The North Dakota State men's track & field team concluded a weekend of competition in California at the Stanford Invitational and the San Francisco State Distance Carnival on Saturday, Apr. 5.
At Stanford, Senior Alec Espeland ran a Summit League-leading 1:51.57 in the 800m for 25th place, and fellow senior Moses Heppner was 36th in a time of 1:52.38 that ranks second in the league.
NDSU sophomore Brock Larson cleared 15-09.25 (4.81m) for fourth place in the pole vault.
Bison redshirt freshman Alex Renner was seventh in the invitational shot put with a throw of 54-05.50 (16.60m). Junior Trevor Berner placed 10th in the invitational hammer throw with a mark of 186-09 (56.92m).
The Bison posted a league-leading 4x400m relay time of 3:18.00 for 16th place at Stanford.
At San Francisco State, junior Donte Smart ran 48.82 in the 400m dash to place fourth and take over the Summit League lead. Sophomore Alex Neumiller posted a time of 49.24 for fifth place, freshman Wesley DeLong finished in 49.26 for sixth, and redshirt freshman Dalton Herding ran 49.30 for seventh.
Senior Nate Mattson clocked a time of 22.26 in the 200m dash for fourth place.
