Bison Soccer Falls to Iowa State Sunday, 1-0

FARGO, N.D. – The North Dakota State University women's soccer team (4-1) suffered a 1-0 loss to the Iowa State University Cyclones (4-2) Sunday, Sept. 7, at Dacotah Field. It marked the first loss of the young 2014 season for the Bison.
Iowa State sophomore Koree Willer broke a scoreless draw in the 82nd minute of the match and gave the Cyclones a 1-0 lead after scoring her team-high fourth goal of the season on a shot from just outside the box.
The Bison attempted to mount a late comeback, but couldn't find an equalizer the final eight minutes of the contest.
NDSU junior goalkeeper Sierra Bonham made six saves in goal for the Bison but suffered the loss to fall to 4-1 in goal on the season.
The Bison were outshot by Iowa State in the match, 18-2, and were held without a corner kick for the first time this season. The Cyclones compiled seven corner kicks.
Cyclone senior goalkeeper Andrea Swanson made two saves in the match and earned the win to improve to 4-2 between the pipes.
North Dakota State is slated to return to the pitch Friday, Sept. 12, when it travels to Maine. First-kick is scheduled for 4 p.m. ET (3 p.m. CT).
