Lesser Takes Shot Put School Record, Ranked 4th Nationally

TEMPE, Ariz. – North Dakota State senior thrower Emily Lesser captured the Bison school record in the outdoor shot put with a personal-best throw by more than two feet on Saturday at the Baldy Castillo Invitational.
Lesser won the event with a throw of 51-09.75 (15.79m), an improvement of 26 inches over her previous personal outdoor best. The Maple Grove, Minn., native surpassed Julia Karst-Gray's school record of 51-01.50 set in 2000.
Lesser now ranks fourth in the NCAA this season in the shot put.
Sophomore Courtney Pasiowitz also climbed the NDSU all-time list in the shot put, recording a toss of 47-09.75 (14.57m) for seventh place in the meet and sixth in Bison history.
Bison junior Sierra Rosenau threw 156-9 (47.79m) for sixth place in the javelin. NDSU sophomore Katelyn Weimerskirch placed 11th in the discus with a throw of 153-5 (46.76m). Both Rosenau and Weimerskirch are the school record holders in their respective events with marks established last season.
Freshman Piper Jensen took sixth place in the triple jump with a mark of 37-09.50 (11.52m) on her final attempt.
