CINCINNATI, Ohio – The North Dakota State men's basketball team dropped a road game to No. 7 Xavier, 85-55, on Tuesday evening at the Cintas Center. Redshirt freshman forward
Deng Geu scored a season-high 18 points for the Bison.
Xavier (7-0) scored the first seven points of the game and led 17-4 less than eight minutes into the contest. The Musketeers pushed their margin to 43-22 at halftime.
NDSU (5-3) put together an 11-2 run midway through the second half with layups from Geu,
Tyson Ward,
Khy Kabellis and
Spencer Eliason and a fadeaway jumper by
Paul Miller.
Senior
Carlin Dupree finished with nine points and four rebounds for the Bison. Geu registered four rebounds and three blocks.
Xavier has now won 21 straight regular season non-conference games and 27 consecutive non-conference home games. This was NDSU's seventh game against a top-10 opponent in the school's Division I era.
The Musketeers shot 48 percent for the game – the first team to shoot better than 44 percent against NDSU this season. Trevon Bluiett had 23 points, seven assists and five rebounds to lead Xavier.
Geu made seven of his first eight shots and finished 8-for-12 in the contest.
The Bison will conclude their three-game road trip at North Carolina A&T in Greensboro, N.C., on Friday, Dec. 2.
