South Dakota State Beats NDSU Baseball Sunday to Complete Series Sweep

BROOKINGS, S.D. – South Dakota State University defeated the North Dakota State University baseball team, 5-2, on Sunday, April 17, at Erv Huether Field in Brookings, S.D., to complete a three-game series sweep of the Bison.
With the loss, NDSU falls to 17-16 overall and 5-10 in Summit League play, while SDSU improves to 13-22 on the season and 9-6 in league action.
Senior Taylor Sanders collected three hits, and sophomore Drew Fearing drove in a pair of runs to lead North Dakota State.
Sophomore southpaw Blake Stockert (0-3) suffered the loss on the mound for NDSU after allowing four runs, one earned, on three hits in 4 1/3 innings pitched with two strikeouts and three walks.
The Bison outhit the Jacks, 8-5, but committed four errors and left seven runners on base. South Dakota State tallied just one miscue in the contest.
Designated hitter Jesse Munsterman went 1-for-4 at the plate with two RBIs to pace the Jackrabbits.
Left-handed pitcher Henry DeCaster (2-1) posted the win for SDSU after allowing two unearned runs on five hits in seven innings of work with two strikeouts and one walk, while reliever Greg Casper posted his third save of the season.
North Dakota State is scheduled to travel to Minneapolis to take on the Minnesota Golden Gophers in a non-conference game on Tuesday, April 19, at 6 p.m. at Siebert Field.
