Bison Men Sweep Top Three Places in Hammer to Open Lyle Hokanson Classic

Results - Day 1
FARGO, N.D. – North Dakota State's Conrad Schwarzkopf, Brandt Berghuis and Steffan Stroh swept the top three places in the hammer throw to open competition for the Bison men's track & field team at the Lyle Hokanson Classic on Friday evening.
Schwarzkopf, a junior from Bismarck, N.D., won the hammer throw with a mark of 201-8 (61.46m) – the second-best mark of his career. He leads The Summit League this year in the event. Berghuis was the runner-up with a season-best 194-6 (59.29m), and Stroh took third at 193-10 (59.09m)
NDSU sophomore Payton Otterdahl registered a personal-best throw of 179-7 (54.73m) to finish fifth in the hammer throw.
Unattached NDSU junior Matt Neururer tops the decathlon standings through five events, scoring 3,534 points on the first day. Neururer posted personal-best marks of 21-07.25 (6.58m) in the long jump and 35-02.50 (10.73m) in the shot put.
Saturday's competition will get started with the resumption of the multi-events at 10 a.m., followed by the javelin at 11 a.m. and the running events at 1:45 p.m.
