EUGENE, Ore. – North Dakota State senior Erin Teschuk earned a spot in the national final of the 3,000m steeplechase on Thursday evening at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships held at historic Hayward Field.

Teschuk clocked a season-best time of 9:59.26 to finish third in her semifinal heat, automatically qualifying for the final.

She will compete in the 12-woman final on Saturday at 5:54 p.m. (CT) / 3:54 p.m. (PT) on ESPN.

Teschuk entered the meet ranked 19th among NCAA qualifiers in the steeplechase this season, but her personal-best time of 9:40.07 from 2015 is the second-fastest in the field. She placed fifth at the NCAA Championships in the event last season.

Elinor Purrier of New Hampshire posted the top semifinal time at 9:54.91.

Teschuk will be looking to earn her seventh first-team All-America honor on Saturday.
