
NDSU Head Baseball Coach Tod Brown Inducted into Sabino High School Hall of Fame

TUCSON, Ariz. – North Dakota State University head baseball coach Tod Brown was inducted into the Sabino High School Hall of Fame on Friday, Sept. 16.
Brown graduated from Sabino in 1989. While at Sabino, he earned a total of eight varsity letters, with three in baseball and soccer, and one each in football and golf.
After his tenure at Sabino, Brown attended the University of Arizona where he was a standout left-handed pitcher for the Wildcats. He was a member of the 1992 Pac-10 Championship team and the 1993 All-Midwest Regional team. Brown set the single-season appearances record for the Wildcats in 1993 and served as the team captain in 1994. He graduated from Arizona in 1994 with a bachelor's degree in regional development.
Brown played professional baseball from 1994-96 before returning to Sabino High School to teach and coach from 1997-99. He was an assistant coach for the 1997 state championship baseball team and head freshman football coach. In his final year of teaching at Sabino, Brown served as a volunteer assistant coach at Arizona.
He went on to become the pitching coach and recruiting coordinator at Bowling Green State University for eight years before being named the head coach of the Bison in 2007.
Entering his 10th season at NDSU, Brown has achieved numerous milestones. In 2014, he helped lead North Dakota State to its first-ever Summit League tournament championship and the first NCAA Division I Regional appearance since 1956. Brown coached the Bison to a school-record 40 wins in 2012 and has amassed 215 victories as a Division I head coach.
He and his wife, Janet, a 1990 Sabino High School graduate, have a 15-year-old son, Brooks, and a 13-year-old daughter, Blake.
