In the USTFCCCA event squad rankings, the Bison men lead the NCAA in the shot put and weight throw and rank sixth nationally in the heptathlon. The event squad rankings rank teams within each single event – averaging the best performances from the top four athletes at each school in each event.
NDSU's top four men in the weight throw all have marks beyond 65 feet this season, while no other school in the country has four men who have surpassed 57 feet. In the shot put, the Bison are the only squad in the country with four athletes better than 56 feet.
As a team, the Bison men are ranked ninth in the Midwest Region in the latest USTFCCCA regional rankings, which include all Division I schools in the nine-state area of Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, South Dakota and North Dakota. The USTFCCCA calculates regional team rankings based on regional descending order lists.
