Bison Shine in Field Events on Second Day of Stanford Invitational

FARGO, N.D. - The North Dakota State men's track and field team wrapped up competition at the Stanford Invitational and San Francisco State Distance Carnival on Saturday, April 1.
Alex Renner and Steffan Stroh were the top two Bison finishers in the shot put and the hammer throw at Stanford. Renner was second in the shot with a mark of 61 feet (18.59m) and fourth in the hammer with a personal record of 204 feet, 2 inches (62.22m). Stroh threw 57-2 1/4 (17.43m) for sixth in the shot and 199-9 (60.89m) for fifth in the hammer.
Jacob McBride threw a personal-best 191-1 (58.24m) for seventh in the hammer, and also moved into a tie for 10th on the NDSU all-time list. Kelle'mon Hinton placed fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 46-10 (14.27m).
The 4x400 relay team of Jacob Richter, Landon Jochim, J.T. Butler and Byrne Curl ran a time of 3:13.55 for third place behind Iowa State and Stanford. Jochim led three NDSU finishers in the 200-meter dash earlier in the day with a 10th-place time of 21.94 seconds.
At the San Francisco State Distance Carnival, Aaron Klos led three Bison in the 400-meter hurdles with a fifth-place time of 53.75 seconds. Brian Ferry was seventh with a 54.57 and Andrew Steinwand eighth with a 54.83.
North Dakota State is scheduled to compete at the University of Nebraska next Saturday, April 8, before returning to California in two weeks and then making their home debut April 21-22 with the Lyle Hokanson Classic.
