Levin Leads Bison Women at California Invitational Heptathlon

AZUSA, Calif. – Junior Amanda Levin leads the group of North Dakota State track & field athletes competing in the California Invitational heptathlon following the first day of competition.
Levin, a West Fargo native, scored 2,974 points through the first four events of the heptathlon. She is currently in 13th place with the final three events to be contested Thursday. Levin clocked a new personal-best time of 24.78 seconds in the 200m dash and matched her personal-best in the high jump by clearing 5-04.25 (1.63m).
NDSU redshirt freshman Maea Wall is in 40th place with 2,639 points after the opening day. Freshman Kennedi Sand is 45th with 2,511 points.
Bison senior Rose Jackson recorded three fouls and did not have a legal throw in the shot put, eliminating her from contention in the Mt. SAC Relays heptathlon. Jackson did, however, open the meet with a personal-best time of 14.31 seconds in the 100m hurdles to rank 10th in NDSU history.
The California Invitational heptathlon will resume on Thursday, and the majority of the NDSU women's squad will compete at the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate meet hosted by Long Beach State.
