NDSU Women Win 9 Events on Way to Bison Team Cup Title

FARGO, N.D. – The North Dakota State University women's track & field team won nine events on the way to claiming the team championship at the inaugural Bison Team Cup held at NDSU on Saturday afternoon.
The Bison women finished with 127 team points in the three-school meet, beating Northern Iowa (85) and Wyoming (74).
NDSU sophomore Kelby Anderson led the way with a dominating performance to win the 3000m. She clocked 9:28.44 to take first by more than 30 seconds and rank second in school history behind only Erin Teschuk. After the NCAA time conversion for running on a 200m flat track, Anderson now ranks fifth in the nation this season.
NDSU senior Bailey Retzlaff won both the weight throw and shot put for the second straight meet. She claimed the weight throw with a personal-best that ranks third in NDSU history, throwing 66-10.00 (20.37m). Her winning mark in the shot was 55-00.25 (16.77m).
Sophomore Michaela Baker won the 60m hurdles in a personal-best 8.76 seconds, tying her for sixth-fastest in NDSU indoor history.
Sophomore Daejha Moss took the Bison Team Cup high jump title, clearing an indoor personal-best 5-08.00 (1.73m) that ranks eighth in NDSU history. She also clocked 7.81 seconds in the 60m dash for runner-up honors.
Bison junior Jocelyn Dinius won the pole vault title for the third straight meet, clearing 12-04.50 (3.77m) for the win.
Redshirt freshman Akealy Moton (West Fargo, N.D.) registered a big toss for second place in the shot put – 51-09.75 (15.79m). She now ranks fifth all-time at NDSU indoors and 24th on the NCAA performance list this year.
NDSU senior Annika Rotvold took first in the mile, running 4:49.75 to top the field by a 16-second margin. Sophomore Alyssa Lind claimed the 400m dash title, winning in 57.81.
Bailey DeMar took second in the triple jump with a personal-best mark of 39-05.75 (12.03m) that ranks her No. 7 all-time at NDSU.
NDSU's other runner-up finishers included Katie Bostrom (880m), Jen Dufner (3000m) and Maddy Nilles (weight throw).
Retzlaff now ranks fourth in the country in the shot put and 21st in the weight throw.
