No. 18-Ranked NDSU Men Return Home for Bison Open

The No. 18-ranked North Dakota State men's track & field team returns home to host the Bison Open on Friday, Feb. 1, and Saturday, Feb. 2, at the Shelly Ellig Indoor Track & Field Facility.
The Bison moved up to No. 18 in the USTFCCCA national rankings this week – the highest Division I team ranking in program history.
The Bison Open begins at 3 p.m. on Friday with the pentathlon 60m hurdles and the men's weight throw. Running events start at 6:30 on Friday evening. On Saturday, the Bison Open resumes with the conclusion of the heptathlon at 10 a.m., with field events and running events starting at 1 p.m.
The Bison men currently have nine performances inside the Top 50 on the NCAA leaderboards, led by senior thrower Payton Otterdahl who leads the nation in both throwing events. Sophomore Alex Talley stands 13th in the country in the weight throw and 20th nationally in the shot put.
In addition to Kristoffer Thomsen (shot put), Trevor Otterdahl (weight throw) and Michael Keogan (weight throw), NDSU also has jumpers Marcus Walton (high jump) and Kelle'Mon Hinton (triple jump) ranked among the top 50 in the NCAA this season.
The NDSU men have won three straight Summit League indoor team titles, and seven indoor crowns in 11 seasons of Summit League membership.
