
Bison Men's Golf Finishes Third at The Invitational at Savannah Harbor

SAVANNAH, Ga. - For the second-straight day, the North Dakota State men's golf team shot a 294, as the Bison finished third at The Invitational at Savannah Harbor.
Van Holmgren started the day in 35th and finished in a tie for sixth overall after he tied a career-low with a 68. It was the fourth time this year that a Bison has shot a 68, as Holmgren has done it twice to go along with two rounds of 68 by Andrew Israelson. With five birdies on the day, Holmgren finished in the top 10 for the eighth time in his career, as he finished with a 216 for the three rounds.
Israelson had three birdies on the day, as he shot a 77. Finishing in a tie for ninth, Israelson now has eight top 10 finishes in his career after shooting a 217 for the three rounds. Israelson was three-under on par three holes on the weekend, tied for the best score on those holes. He was also one of six players to record an eagle on the weekend.
Nate Deziel shot a 75 on Sunday, finishing in a tie for 23rd with a 221 for the three rounds. Deziel had three birdies in the final round. Deziel tied for fifth with 38 pars on the weekend. Lucas Johnson shot a 76, finishing with a 225 for a tie for 43rd. Johnson had a pair of birdies in the final round. Will Holmgren moved up seven spots on the leader board in the final day, shooting a 75 to finish in a tie for 71st with a 229. W. Holmgren had two birdies in the last round.
Playing as an individual, Jed Baranczyk finished in a tie for ninth after shooting a 73 on Sunday. Baranczyk had four birdies on the day, as his 217 for the three rounds gave him his second career top 10 finish. Baranczyk was four-under on par five holes on the weekend, tied for the best score on those holes for the tournament.
The Bison finished third overall with an 875 for the three rounds. South Carolina Beaufort shot a 282 in the final round and moved from eighth to first, winning the title with an 872. Austin Peay State, the leader after the first day, finished second with an 874. Washington & Lee's Brian Peccie won the individual title with a 212.
NDSU returns to action on Monday, Feb. 25 at the Colin Montgomerie Invitational in Spring, Texas.
