AUSTIN, Texas – North Dakota State senior track & field athlete Amanda Levin posted personal-best performances in three out of four events Wednesday in the Texas Relays heptathlon, totaling a career-high 3,222 points on the first day of competition.
Levin (West Fargo, N.D.) stands in ninth place in the competition, which will conclude with the final three events on Thursday. She surpassed her previous best first-day score by 66 points.
Levin opened the day with a career-best time of 14.66 in the 100m hurdles – her first time ever under 15 seconds in the event. She cleared 5-01.75 (1.57m) in the high jump before posting two more personal-bests in the shot put (41-10.50 / 12.76m) and 200m dash (24.61).
Levin's highest-ever score in the heptathlon was 5,321 points at the 2017 Summit League Championships.
The rest of the Bison women's track & field team will start competition at the Texas Relays, Texas State's Bobcat Invitational, and the Mike Fanelli Classic in Hayward, Calif., on Thursday.
