Bison Women Open Play at Coeur d'Alene Collegiate

COEUR d'ALENE, IDAHO - The North Dakota State women's golf team opened play Monday at the Coeur d'Alene Collegiate at the Coeur d'Alene Resort Golf Course, hosted by Gonzaga.
NDSU shot a 307 in the first round, but bounced back with a 293 in the second round. The Bison moved up four spots as a team in the second round, sitting in 11th place as a team after the opening day with a 600. Gonzaga has the team lead with a 571 with rounds of 284 and 287. Gonzaga's Jessica Mangrobang has the individual lead with a 140 over two rounds.
The Bison were led by three players that shot a 150 for the day and are tied for 39th. Sierra Bennion, Alexis Thomas and Vinisha Gunaseelan each shot a 150 for NDSU. Bennion had rounds of 79 and 71, while Thomas had a 75 in both rounds. Gunaseelan had a 73 in the opening round and followed with a 77 in the second round. Bennion had five birdies on the day, while Gunaseelan had three in the first round.
Taylor McCorkle shot an 81 in the opening round, but followed with a 70 in the second round, the lowest 18 hole score by a Bison this season. McCorkle is tied for 52nd with a 151 after firing four birdies in the second round. Lexi Geolat rounded out the Bison lineup, as she is tied for 72nd with a 157. Geolat shot an 80 in the first round and a 77 in the second, including three birdies on the day. Playing as an individual, Camryn Roadley is tied for 85th with a 163. Roadley shot a 78 in the first round and followed with an 85 in the second round, as she had a pair of birdies in each of her rounds.
The final round of the Coeur d'Alene Collegiate gets underway at 9:45 a.m. central time on Tuesday.
