NDSU Men’s Track & Field Has Strong Day at Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. – The North Dakota State men's track & field team saw multiple performance break into the school's all-time Top 10 lists on Saturday at the Mark Colligan Memorial hosted by Nebraska.
Sophomore Jacob Rodin (Kenmare, N.D.) ran 1:19.04 in the 600m, placing second in the meet and ranking No. 2 all-time at NDSU. Jonah Warwick's school record of 1:18.22 is the only faster 600m in NDSU history.
Bison sophomore Kristoffer Thomsen (63-03.50 / 19.29m) and junior Alex Talley (63-02.00 / 19.25m) finished 1-2 in the shot put. Bison junior Trevor Otterdahl threw a personal-best 59-07.00 (18.16m) to take sixth in the meet and rank seventh in school history.
Talley won the weight throw with a mark of 68-09.25 (20.96m). Senior Michael Keogan registered a huge personal-best, posting a mark of 68-00.50 (20.74m) to move up to fourth in NDSU history. He improved his previous best mark by more than two feet.
The Bison men finished 1-2-3 in the mile at Nebraska, led by junior Alex Bartholomay in 4:11.71. Junior Tim Heikkila was second in 4:12.01, and freshman Isaac Huber finished third in 4:14.92.
Sophomore Josh Knutson was the runner-up in the 400m dash, running an indoor personal-best of 48.66. The Bison also had Darrien Lipscomb finish fourth in 49.03, Adrian Harris fifth in 49.04, Cody Roder in 49.66, and Connor Wendel in 49.82.
The Bison men ran to the No. 2 spot in The Summit League this season in the 4x400m relay, finishing in 3:16.87 with Roder, Rodin, Harris and Lipscomb.
Sophomore Josh Samyn (Winnipeg, Manitoba) clocked a big personal-best of 1:52.88 in the 800m, taking third place.
Senior sprinter Guillaume Viault took fourth in the 200m in 21.82, and finished 10th in the 60m dash in 6.95. Junior Alex Brosseau ran a PR of 6.99 in the 60m dash and an indoor personal-best of 22.12 in the 200m.
Freshman Trent Davis clocked a season-best 8.27 seconds in the 60m hurdles to finish seventh.
Sophomore Jacob Slate posted a weight throw personal-best of 59-10.50 (18.25m).
The Bison return to action at Minnesota's Jack Johnson Classic on Friday, Jan. 31, and Saturday, Feb. 1.
