Indoor (Junior): Indoor 400m dash personal-best of 49.45 to win the event at the UND Tune-Up on Feb. 22 … Won the 600m at Minnesota’s Jack Johnson Classic in a personal-best 1:22.91 … Personal-best 300m dash time of 35.43 at the Bison Open on Feb. 7.
Outdoor: Season canceled due to COVID-19 pandemic.

2018-19 SEASON
 
Indoor (Sophomore): Indoor personal-best 400m dash time of 50.17 at the SDSU Indoor Classic on Feb. 9.
Outdoor (Sophomore): Summit League champion in the 400m hurdles, running a personal-best 53.13 in the finals at the conference meet … Won the 400m hurdles at the Kip Janvrin Open in 53.75 on Apr. 26 … Won the 400m hurdles at the Husker Spring Invite on Apr. 6 in 54.16 … Won the 400m hurdles at the IMG Academy Invitatonal on Mar. 16 in 53.78.

2017-18 SEASON
 
Indoor (Freshman): Posted season-best times of 23.10 in the 200m dash, 36.21 in the 300m dash, 50.51 in the 400m dash, and 1:25.81 in the 600m run.
Outdoor (Freshman): Placed 4th in the 400m hurdles at the Summit League Outdoor Championships, running a personal-best 53.69 in the finals … Won the 400m hurdles at the NDSU Tune-Up on May 4 in 55.73 … Clocked 54.03 in the 400m hurdles at the Beach Invitational on Apr. 21 … Ran the 400m leg on NDSU’s distance medley that finished 7th at the Drake Relays and ranks 4th-fastest in school history.

2016-17 SEASON
 
Indoor (Redshirt): Competed unattached as a redshirt, running a season-best 400m dash time of 52.44 at the Bison Open on Feb. 4.
Outdoor (Redshirt): Competed unattached as a redshirt, posting a season-best 400m hurdles time of 54.98 at the University of Mary on Apr. 8.

HIGH SCHOOL: Placed 4th in the 300m hurdles and 7th in the 110m hurdles at the North Dakota Class B state meet as a senior in 2016 … State champion in the 4x200m relay … Also ran on the Carrington HS 4x100m relay team that placed 5th at the state meet … State runner-up in the 300m hurdles as a junior in 2015, as well as taking 3rd in the 110m hurdles … Holds the Carrington HS school records in the 300m hurdles (38.86) and 110m hurdles (15.35) … All-State quarterback and defensive back in football … Also played basketball and baseball.
 
PERSONAL: Son of Shane and Mary Wendel … Has one older sister, Madison, and two younger sisters, Kennedy and Isabel … Both parents, Shane and Mary Wendel, competed in track and field at North Dakota State … Sister, Madison, plays volleyball at Jamestown University … Majoring in agribusiness.
