Indoor (Freshman): All-Summit League performer in two events as a true freshman, placing 2nd in the long jump and 3rd in the heptathlon at the Summit League Indoor Championships … Season-best leap of 23-02.75 (7.08m) in the long jump at the conference meet … Season-best heptathlon score of 4,749 points at the conference meet … Top NDSU multi-event athlete in the throwing events, with a season-best mark of 45-05.25 (13.85m) in the shot put.
Outdoor (Freshman): Placed 4th in the decathlon and 7th in the long jump at the Summit League Outdoor Championships … Season-best decathlon score of 6,520 points at the conference meet … Season-best long jump mark of 23-04.50 (7.12m) at the conference meet … USATF Junior Championships qualifier in the decathlon, finishing fourth in Sacramento on June 22-23 … Top NDSU decathlete in the throwing events, with season-best marks of 45-00.50 (13.73m) in the shot put and 142-10 (43.53m) in the discus.
HIGH SCHOOL: Won the Minnesota Class A state title in the triple jump for Ottertail Central as a sophomore in 2014, posting a leap of 44-11 on his final attempt … Also placed fifth in the long jump with a mark of 21-9 and ran on Ottertail Central’s eighth-place 4x200m relay team … Holds school records in the long jump and triple jump … Also captured Section 6A and Park Region Conference titles in the triple jump, long jump, 4x100m relay and 4x200m relay … After an injury, he picked up the throwing events for his senior season and qualified for the state meet in both the shot put and discus, finishing fifth in the discus … 1,000-point scorer and all-state honoree in basketball for Battle Lake High School, leading his team to multiple conference and section championships and a fourth-place finish at the Class A state tourney … In football, he was named the Midwest District Player of the Year as a senior in 2015, quarterbacking Ottertail Central to a section title and state semifinals appearance.
