Adrian Harris, Jacob Rodin Continue Breakout Seasons for Bison Track & Field

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A freshman from St. Petersburg, Fla., and a sophomore from Kenmare, N.D., continue to headline the North Dakota State men's track & field team with their breakout seasons.
Adrian Harris, a true freshman sprinter from Northside Christian HS in Florida, now ranks third in NDSU indoor history after running 47.71 in the 400m dash at Vanderbilt's Music City Challenge on Saturday. He also leads The Summit League in the event this season.
Sophomore Jacob Rodin (Kenmare HS) ran a personal-best 1:50.79 in the 800m at Vanderbilt to rank fourth in NDSU indoor history. His race was the fastest indoor 800m by a Bison in nine years.
Harris, Cody Roder, Josh Knutson and Jacob Rodin ran a season-best 3:14.54 in the 4x400m relay to take third place in the meet and rank 11th-fastest all-time at NDSU.
At Washington's Husky Classic in Seattle, Tim Heikkila ran a personal-best 4:08.44 in the mile to win his heat and move up to sixth all-time at NDSU.
Also at Washington, sophomore Josh Samyn ran 1:52.77 to win his 800m heat and register another personal-best. Sophomore Beau Brannan clocked an indoor 800m PR of 1:53.13 in Nashville.
The Bison men swept the top five places in the shot put at the Husky Classic, with junior Alex Talley winning with a mark of 63-00.00 (19.20m). Sophomore Kristoffer Thomsen was the runner-up at 62-03.25 (18.98m).
Junior Trevor Otterdahl topped 60 feet in the shot put for the first time, throwing 60-06.00 (18.44m) for third place. He is now ranked sixth in NDSU indoor history. Freshman Maxwell Otterdahl was fourth at 59-11.75 (18.28m), and redshirt freshman Clayton Hannula was fifth at 56-08.00 (17.27m).
Bison sophomore Luke Foertsch nearly posted a triple jump personal-best for the second straight week, leaping 45-09.00 (13.94m) at Vanderbilt.
Senior sprinter Guillaume Viault finished fifth in the 60m dash, running 6.91 seconds. Sophomore Keiser Freetly set a new personal-best in the mile with a time of 4:15.76.
Roder (48.90), Darrien Lipscomb (48.91), and Knutson (48.98) all went sub-49 in the 400m dash. Junior Connor Wendel ran a personal-best 49.56.
At the USATF Indoor Championships in Albuquerque, former NDSU national champion Payton Otterdahl placed third in the shot put with a mark of 67-03.25 (20.50m). Former Bison All-American Alex Renner finished 10th.
