The North Dakota State University women's and men's track & field teams will compete in the Jim Emmerich Invitational hosted by South Dakota State in Brookings, S.D., this Saturday, Jan. 23. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. inside the Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex.

Teams joining NDSU in participating are expected to include North Dakota, Omaha, the University of Mary, and the host Jackrabbits.

Entering this third meet of the 2021 indoor season, the Bison men and women have already achieved four performances that rank in the NCAA's top five this season. Alex Talley leads the nation in the weight throw and ranks second in the shot put, while Akealy Moton is No. 2 nationally in the shot put, and Trevor Otterdahl stands at No. 5 in the weight throw.

Kristoffer Thomsen (No. 6, men's shot put) and Daejha Moss (No. 9, women's high jump) join them in the NCAA Top 10 this season.

Both the Bison men and women were voted the preseason favorite to defend their Summit League indoor titles in 2021. The Summit League Indoor Championships will be held Feb. 27-28 in Brookings.
