MOORHEAD, Minn. – Three North Dakota State wrestlers picked up victories, while 11 Bison secured placing finishes, at the Dragon Open hosted by Minnesota State-Moorhead on Sunday.
 
Michael Caliendo, Gabriel Schumm and Michael Weber took home top honors in their respective classes, while Clay Radenz also reached a final.
 
Caliendo, who wrestled unattached at 165, continued his unbeaten start to his collegiate career, as he improved to 10-0 on the season with three victories, including a pair of major decisions.
 
Schumm, who also wrestled unattached, claimed the 141-pound title, his first open bracket victory with the Bison. Schumm recorded a pair of mins before a major decision and a 6-4 win in the final.
 
Weber went 3-0 in the 157-pound bracket to claim his first open title as a Bison. Weber started off with a pair of major decision victories before a 4-1 win in the final.
 
Radenz, who wrestled unattached at 149 pounds, made the final in his bracket after a pair of third period tech falls to start his day and reach the final. However, the freshman came up short, taking home second-place honors.
 
Four Bison overcame an early-round loss to secure third-place finishes, while three other Bison placed in the top six at the event.
