WICHITA, Kan. – In his first outdoor meet as a Bison, North Dakota State freshman
Maxwell Otterdahl entered the school's all-time Top 10 list in a pair of events. Otterdahl was one of several NDSU men's track & field athletes who turned in impressive performances at the season-opening Shocker Spring Invitational on Saturday.

Otterdahl won the shot put with a throw of 62-04.00 (19.00m), ranking him fifth in NDSU history after his outdoor debut. Later in the day, he entered the NDSU all-time Top 10 in the discus, throwing 167-0 (50.90m) to rank eighth in school history.

Sophomore
Brandon Lewis jumped 24-07.00 (7.49m) to win the long jump – the second-best mark of his career. Bison freshman
Dante White recorded a personal-best 23-06.00 (7.16m) for in the long jump, taking second place.

The Bison men finished 1-2-3 in the 400m dash, with
Cody Roder winning in 48.48,
Jacob Rodin second in 48.90, and
Darrien Lipscomb third in 48.94. NDSU also won the 4x400m relay.

Trent Davis was the runner-up in the 110m hurdles in 14.48, just missing the Bison all-time Top 10 in his outdoor debut.

Freshman
Dante White (10.75) and
Alex Brosseau (10.78) finished 2-3 in the 100m dash with a pair of personal-bests. Brosseau also took second in the 200m in 21.88.

Josh Samyn clocked an outdoor personal-best of 1:54.32 to take second place in the 800m.
Keiser Freetly was third in 1:54.65.

Elijah Hylen cleared 6-04.75 (1.95m) to take third place and lead the Bison men in the high jump.

The Bison will host the NDSU Spring Classic on Friday, Apr. 2, on campus.
