FARGO, N.D. – North Dakota State's
Kelby Anderson and
Nell Graham turned in nationally ranked performances to highlight Saturday for the NDSU women's track & field team at the Bison Team Cup.
Anderson took the mile title in 4:56.95, ranking 41st on the early NCAA performance list this season.
Sophomore
Nell Graham won the 400m dash in 56.77, as the Bison women swept the top three places in the event. Redshirt freshman
Kaci Cooper was second in 57.13, and freshman Alexandra Niska was third in 58.19. Graham's performance puts her in the NCAA's top 40 this year.
Bison senior and returning All-American
Amy Herrington won the weight throw with a toss of 65-01.50 (19.85m). NDSU senior
Amanda Anderson took first in the shot put (48-11.50 / 14.92m) and second in the weight throw (60-05.75 / 18.43m).
Sophomore
Bonet Henderson won the women's 60m dash, running 7.79 in the final. NDSU freshman Christiana Collins clocked 7.73 in the prelim and took second in the final. Collins also won the 200m dash in a personal-best 25.10, and NDSU's
Angel Pratt was a close second in 25.17.
Grace Emineth won the long jump with a mark of 18-06.00 (5.64m) as the Bison women claimed the top six places in the event. NDSU's
Alissa Melvin took first place in the triple jump with a mark of 37-06.75 (11.45m).
Daejha Moss claimed the high jump crown, clearing 5-06.00 (1.68m).
NDSU's
Salmata Korgho was the runner-up in the 60m hurdles, clocking 8.86.
The Bison will compete next at SDSU's Jim Emmerich Invite on Saturday, Jan. 22, in Brookings, S.D.
