FARGO, N.D. – The North Dakota State men's track & field team dominated several events at the season-opening Dakota Alumni Classic on Friday, sweeping at least the top four places in four different events.

The Bison men claimed the top five places in the 60m hurdles. Sophomore Logan Mathieu won in 8.20, and sophomore Brock Johnsen was second in 8.22. Unattached Jared Eggermont (8.29) placed third, Drake Daniels was fourth, and Robert Douglas was fifth.

Graduate transfer Cam Landis led a Bison sweep of the top four places in the men's shot put, throwing a personal-best 59-03.50 (18.07m) to rank ninth in NDSU indoor history. Clayton Hannula took second at 57-11 (17.65m), Levi Rockey was third at 57-4 (17.47m), and Kaden Pastian placed fourth at 53-10 (16.40m).

Josh Knutson (49.18) won the 400m dash as the Bison men took the top four places. Jacob Levin (49.24), Adrian Harris (49.28), and Isaac Huntington (50.18) completed the sweep.

Unattached Bison senior Trevor Otterdahl won the weight throw with a mark of 73-05.50 (22.39m). Pastian threw a personal-best 63-5 (19.33m) for second place. Rockey (third, 59-00.25 / 17.99m) and Tristan Bush (fourth, 56-01.00 / 17.09m) both registered personal-bests in the weight throw to help the Bison men claim the top four spots.

NDSU senior Jacob Rodin won the 800m in a meet-record time of 1:52.98. Josh Samyn was second in 1:54.05.

Dante White ran a personal-best 6.85 in the 60m dash, moving up to eighth on the NDSU all-time list.

Bison freshman Jarod White won the pole vault in his first collegiate meet, clearing 16-02.75 (4.95m). Jacob Van Dusseldorp set a new pole vault personal-best at 15-9 (4.80m), taking second place.

Koate Deebom won the triple jump with a mark of 45-5 (13.84m). He was also the runner-up in the long jump with a personal-best mark of 22-08.50 (6.92m). Elijah Hylen cleared a personal-best 6-09.75 (2.08m) in the high jump.

NDSU sophomore Zach McGlynn leads the heptathlon after Day 1 at the Dakota Alumni Classic, scoring 2,900 points through four events.
