SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – North Dakota State's Evan Sankey has been named the TicketSmarter Summit League Pitcher of the Week for the first time in his career, the league office announced on Monday afternoon.

Sankey helped guide the NDSU baseball team to a 3-1 overall record in the opening week of the season. The Appleton, Wis., native tossed three strikeouts over five shutout innings in the 4-0 win against Abilene Christian. Sankey limited the Wildcats to a .250 batting average with no walks and five hits.

Sankey has notched a 9-4 record on the mound over three seasons with 90 strikeouts and 4.14 ERA.
