ST. GEORGE, Utah – The North Dakota State women's golf team is tied for seventh place after day one at the Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird Invitational at Sunbrook Golf Course.
The Bison fired a first-round total of 314 and are tied with Southern Utah for seventh place. Seattle is in first place with a score of 299, while South Dakota State and Arkansas State both sit three strokes back tied for second with a score of 302.
Jo Baranczyk paces the Bison tied for eighth place with a score of 74.
Lexi Geolat shot a 79 and is slotted tied for 35th place.
Elise Hoven carded an 80 is tied for 41st place, while
Leah Skaar is one stroke back with an 81 and is tied for 47th place.
Catherine Monty rounds out the group tied for 93rd place with a first-round score of 90.
Ava Wallerich (81, T47th),
Maddie Herzog (85, T72nd) and
Holly Murphy (93, T100th) also competed as individuals for the Bison.
The average score on the par 72 course was 82.00. NDSU totaled 43 pars and nine birdies on day one.
The Bison will continue play at the Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird Invitational tomorrow.
