ST. GEORGE, Utah – The North Dakota State women's golf team finished in seventh place at the Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird Invitational at Sunbrook Golf Course.
The Bison assembled rounds of 314, 306 and 301 for a three-round total of 921 to come in seventh place of the 16-team tournament. Arkansas State (302-295-292--889) earned the top spot edging second place Seattle (299-297-294--890) by one stroke. Oral Roberts (313-297-294--904) climbed up two spots on the final day to round out the top three in third place.
Jo Baranczyk posted a career-best tied for 12th place finish after carding rounds of 74, 76 and 76 for a total of 226.
Lexi Geolat (79-75-75--229) also posted a top 20 finish coming in tied for 20th.
Elise Hoven (80-77-75--232) finished tied for 30th place, while
Leah Skaar (81-78-79--238) posted a tied for 53rd place finish.
Catherine Monty (90-83-75--248) also registered a tied for 83rd place finish.
Maddie Herzog (T-38th, 85-77-72--234),
Ava Wallerich (T-79th, 81-84-82--247) and
Holly Murphy (98th, 93-83-80--256) competed as individuals for the Bison.
The average score in round three was 77.79 and the average score over all three rounds was 79.71. The Bison totaled 151 pars and 26 birdies over three rounds.
NDSU will be back in action next Saturday at the Red Rocks Invitational in Sedona, Ariz., at Oakcreek Country Club.
