LONG BEACH, Calif. – Senior
Amanda Anderson broke the school record in the discus to headline the efforts of the North Dakota State women's track & field team at the Beach Invitational on Saturday, Apr. 16.
Anderson threw 190-1 (57.95m) to win the discus – a new personal-best by 10 feet – and break the NDSU school record by a margin of more than four feet. She moved into the Top 10 in the NCAA this season in the event.
Fellow senior
Amy Phillips was the runner-up in the hammer throw at the Mt. SAC Relays, posting the second-best mark of her career at 223-8 (68.18m).
Sophomore
Salmata Korgho clocked a personal-best 13.78 in the 100m hurdles at the Beach Invitational. She ranks fifth-best all-time at NDSU.
Sophomore
Grace Emineth recorded a long jump personal-best of 19-10.25 (6.05m), tying for ninth-best in NDSU outdoor history. Emineth also jumped 39-8 (12.09m) for her second-best mark ever in the triple jump.
Freshman
Christie Collins ran a 200m dash personal-best of 24.72 – the fastest by a Bison woman this season.
Nell Graham (55.53),
Angel Pratt (56.47), and
Kaci Cooper (57.34) were the top Bison in the 400m dash at the Beach Invitational.
Daejha Moss tied for second place in the high jump, clearing 5-07.25 (1.71m).
Jodi Lipp went 39-5 (12.01m) in the triple jump and 18-5 (5.61m) in the long jump.
Aaliyah Heine, Pratt,
Bonet Henderson and Collins ran a season-best 46.43 in the 4x100m relay for sixth place.
Late Friday night at the Mt. SAC Relays, senior
Kelby Anderson set a new lifetime-best of 15:58.19 in the 5,000m. She became just the third Bison woman to ever run sub-16 minutes in the 5,000m.
