Melvin Wins Triple Jump, Long Jump to Lead Bison Women Saturday

VERMILLION, S.D. – North Dakota State junior Alissa Melvin won a pair of events to headline the performances by the Bison women's track & field team on Saturday at the South Dakota Challenge.
Melvin won the long jump with a wind-aided jump of 19-10.75 (6.06m) and the triple jump with a wind-aided mark of 41-01.75 (12.54m).
Grace Emineth jumped 19-09.00 (6.02m) for second place in the long jump, and Jodi Lipp was second in the triple jump at 39-08.75 (12.11m).
Senior thrower Amanda Anderson claimed the shot put title with a throw of 49-08.25 (15.14m). Anderson also placed third in the discus at 175-2 (53.39m).
