North Dakota State University women's track & field athlete Amanda Anderson has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America first team for Division I, the College Sports Information Directors of America announced Tuesday.
This is the first Academic All-America honor of Anderson's career. The Bison women have now earned 20 Academic All-America honors in track & field and cross country since the Division I transition.
Anderson (Bethel, Minn.) owns a perfect 4.0 cumulative GPA as a physical education and health education major. She swept the Summit League's indoor and outdoor titles in the shot put this season, and added her third consecutive conference title in the discus outdoor.
An NCAA West Prelims qualifier in both events, Anderson was ranked ninth in the NCAA for the discus in 2022. She was named the Summit League Outdoor Championships Most Outstanding Performer.
