
NDSU Places Five Women on Outdoor Track & Field Academic All-League Team

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The North Dakota State women's track & field team was represented by five Bison on the Summit League Academic All-League team for the 2022 outdoor season.
Amanda Anderson, Kelby Anderson, Alissa Melvin, Amy Phillips and Kari Wolfe all earned the honor by virtue of their athletic and academic achievements.
Amanda Anderson (Bethel, Minn.) owns a perfect 4.0 cumulative GPA as a physical education and health education major. She was named the Most Outstanding Performer of the Summit League Outdoor Championships, winning the shot put and her third consecutive conference title in the discus.
Kelby Anderson (Bismarck, N.D.) was named the Summit League Championships Track MVP for scoring 26 points in the running events, including a conference title in the 10,000m and runner-up finishes in the 1500m and 5000m. She is a nursing major with a 3.83 cumulative GPA.
Melvin (Waterloo, Ontario) has a 3.92 GPA as a political science major. She posted the best triple jump mark by a Summit League athlete this season, leaping 42-2 (12.85m) to qualify for the NCAA West Preliminary Rounds.
Phillips (Henley-on-Thames, England) is an NCAA Championships qualifier and the Summit League champion in the hammer throw. She earned her bachelor's degree in exercise science with a 3.87 GPA and owns a 4.0 toward a master's degree in health, nutrition and exercise science.
Wolfe (Harvey, N.D.) claimed her third straight Summit League javelin title this season, as well as advancing to the NCAA Championships in the event. She earned a degree in biological sciences with a 3.86 GPA.
To be eligible for The Summit League Academic All-League team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 (on a 4.00 scale), completed at least one full academic year at the current institution and participated in 50 percent of their team's competitions. The award is voted on by the institutions' faculty athletic representatives and sports information directors.
