Hoven and Monty Guide Bison to Win at the NDSU Fall Invitational

OXBOW, N.D. – Elise Hoven and Catherine Monty finished tied for first place to help lift the Bison women's golf team to a win at the NDSU Fall Invitational at Oxbow Country Club on Wednesday afternoon.
The Bison put together rounds of 304 and 297 for a two-round total of 601. St. Thomas (309-305--614) finished 13 strokes back in second place with a score of 614, while North Dakota (314-319--633) rounded out the three-team tournament in third place with a score of 633.
Monty (75-74--149) finished +5 over two rounds to finish tied for first place. She notched three birdies and hit par on 11 holes to move up one spot on the leaderboard. Hoven (74-75--149) also finished +5 to remain in the top spot after three birdies and nine pars.
Leah Skaar (80-72--152) climbed up seven spots on the leaderboard to tie for fourth place after finishing with an even 72 in round two. Jo Baranczyk (79-76--155) came in ninth place, while Madi Hicks (76-80--156) finished tied for 10th place. Maddie Herzog (82-81--163) closed out the group in 17th place.
Cora Larson (80-73--153) played as an individual and cracked the top 10 in her first collegiate tournament finishing tied for sixth place. Ava Wallerich (82-75--157) also played as an individual and carded a career-low 75 in the round two to move up four spots and finish tied for 12th place.
The average score over two rounds of play was 79.03. The Bison led the tournament with 126 pars and 22 birdies.
NDSU will be back in action at the Hobble Creek Invitational in Springville, Utah on Monday.
