NDSU Women’s Golf Positioned in Third Place at Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird Invitational

ST. GEORGE, UTAH – The North Dakota State women's golf team is in third place after the first round of play at the Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird Invitational at Sunbrook Golf Course on Thursday afternoon.
Wyoming has a three-stroke lead after posting a first-round score of 290. Boise State is slotted in second place with a score of 293 and NDSU rounds out the top three in third place with a score of 294 in the 16-team tournament.
Leah Skaar (73) and Elise Hoven (73) are tied for ninth place after shooting +1 on the par 72 course. Madi Hicks (74) and Jo Baranczyk (74) are tied for 15th place and each carded a +2. Hoven and Hicks each connected on a team-high five birdies in the opening round. Catherine Monty (83) closed out the group tied for 79th place.
Maddie Herzog (80) is tied for 63rd place, Cora Larson (81) is slotted tied for 69th place and Ava Wallerich (82), who notched an eagle on hole 14, is tied for 76th place. All three participated as individuals.
The average score in the first round of play was 78.12.
NDSU will continue play at the Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird Invitational tomorrow.
