VERMILLION, S.D. – The North Dakota State men's track & field team opened competition at the USD Early Bird meet on Friday.

Senior
Trevor Otterdahl won the shot put with a throw of 61-00.75 (18.61m). Otterdahl was also the top collegian in the hammer throw with a mark of 224-5 (68.41m).

Cam Landis took fourth in the shot put at 58-10.25 (17.94m).

Beau Brannan ran a career-best 1:52.39 in the 800m, taking fifth in the meet.

For the second straight meet, senior
Tristan Bush posted a personal-best in the hammer throw – 199-0 (60.66m). Sophomore
Kaden Pastian set a new hammer personal-best at 191-1 (58.25m).

Unattached Bison freshman
Demetrius Farmakis ran 14:54.70 in the 5,000m for second place.

Competition will resume on Saturday in Vermillion.
