FARGO, N.D. – The North Dakota State women's golf team continues its season with the Coeur d'Alene Resort Invitational in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho starting on Sunday and going through Tuesday.
Tournament Schedule
The tournament tees off at 9:30 a.m. (CT) on Sunday and continues through Tuesday with 54 holes being played over three days. Live statistics can be found here.
The Field
There will be 13 teams competing in the Coeur d'Alene Resort Invitational and will square off at Coeur d'Alene Resort Course. Along with the Bison, the field includes CSU Bakersfield, British Columbia, California Baptist, Gonzaga, Grand Canyon, Louisiana Monroe, San Francisco, Seattle, South Dakota, UC Davis, UC Riverside, and Wichita State.
The Course
Designer Scott Miller's vision was a golf course offering a stimulating round of golf, immersing players in a pristine park-like environment. The result is fairways, playing from tee to green on a lush carpet of bent grass, accented with beds of brilliant red geraniums, acres of junipers and alpine water challenges of Lake Coeur d'Alene and Fernan Creek. The course boasts views of the lake from nearly every hole and is designed around four distinct geographic features: an expansive lakeshore, a forested ridge, gently rolling woodlands and Fernan Creek.
Bison at the Coeur d'Alene Resort Invitational
The Bison went to the Coeur d'Alene Resort Collegiate Invitational back in 2021 where they finished 15th in the 17-team tournament. Leah Skaar cracked the top 25 in 25th place with a three-round total of 222.
On the Links
- The Bison boasts seven returning players, led by Catherine Monty and fellow seniors Leah Skaar and Ava Wallerich.
-The Bison made history at the Timpanogos Collegiate Invitational. The 54-hole total of 860 ranked for the lowest total in NDSU history which was 872 set at the Summit League Championship on April 25, 2023. The third-round total of 280 is now the lowest in program history, beating the original 284, which was set on Sept. 11, 2017, at the Battle at Old Works.
