BOSTON, Mass. – The North Dakota State women's track & field team competed in a pair of meets on Friday, with a number of standout performances coming at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational hosted by Boston University. The Bison women captured five event titles at the meet.
Kendra Kelley, Bailee Dierks, Kaci Cooper and Nell Graham won the 4x400m relay, running 3:41.57 to become the fourth-fastest squad in school history.
Individually, Kelley won the 200m dash in 23.59 for the second-fastest time in NDSU indoor history, behind only her own school record 23.50 set earlier this season.
NDSU's Salmata Korgho won the 60m hurdles in 8.45. Dierks ran a career-best 8.49 in the 60m hurdles, taking second place in the meet and moving up to sixth-fastest on the NDSU all-time list.
Freshman Arienne Birch won the high jump in Boston, clearing 5-07.25 (1.71m). Merrideth Spiers took the weight throw title with a mark of 63-10 (19.47m).
Graham clocked 53.51 for the 400m dash – the second-fastest indoor time in NDSU history behind only her own school record 53.09. Cooper ran a personal-best 56.10 in the 400m.
Junior Grace Link clocked a personal-best 4:47.86 in the mile, ranking sixth-fastest in school history and leading The Summit League this season. Reagan Baesler recorded a personal-best 4:50.77, ranking 11th all-time at NDSU and cutting nearly five seconds off her previous best. Freshman Logan Harz clocked a new mile personal-best of 4:57.19.
Brita Birkeland ran 2:12.98 in the 800m at Boston for the second-fastest time of her career.
Makenna Vollmer took third place as the top Bison finisher in the long jump, posting an indoor personal-best of 19-04.25 (5.90m). Freshman Joy Nnantah placed fourth in the triple jump with a season-best 39-03.25 (11.97m).
At the SDSU Indoor Classic in Brookings, S.D., Julia Gherardi won the pole vault at 12-09.50 (3.90m). Jacee Johannsen matched her personal-best at 12-03.50 (3.75m) for second place.
Hope Pringle ran a personal-best 17:24.97 in the 5,000m at SDSU for seventh place.
