SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Junior right-handed pitcher Parker Puetz has been named the Summit League Kwik Star Peak Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Puetz logged 5.0 scoreless innings in the season-opener at Florida Gulf Coast. The Volga, S.D., native tossed a career-best eight strikeouts with one hit and two walks. He also limited the Eagles to a .067 batting average.

Puetz only appeared in and started five games on the mound last season after working back into the lineup from an injury. It marks his first career Summit League Pitcher of the Week award.
