Bison Women Roll to 17th Summit Outdoor Title, 34th League Crown in 37 Tries

FARGO, N.D. – The North Dakota State women's track & field team captured six event titles on the final day of the Summit League Outdoor Championships Saturday, running away with its 17th outdoor team title in 18 seasons.
The Bison women totaled 246.5 points to defeat runner-up North Dakota by a comfortable 50-point margin. St. Thomas finished third with 117.5 points.
Combined with 17 indoor team titles, the NDSU women have now won 34 out of 37 team conference championships since joining The Summit League prior to the 2008 season.
Sophomore sprinter Paige Renschler swept the conference titles in the 100m and 200m dashes. She won the 100m crown in a new school record and facility record 11.24, then came back later in the meet to win the 200m in 23.43.
Sydney Arndt led a Bison sweep of the top three places in the 100m hurdles, winning in 13.47. The NDSU women finished 1-2-3-5-7 in the event with Arndt, Laney Songster, Marvelous Onwualo, Jordyn Davis and Rylee Johnson scoring 30 critical team points.
Arndt, Renschler, Elise Wisnewski and Anika Larson captured the Summit League title in the 4x100m relay, clocking 45.21.
The Bison women also brought home the 4x400m relay title with the squad of Wisnewski, Soraya Espino, Kendal Stingle and Reese Rogowski in 3:40.48.
NDSU senior Alex Seagris captured the gold medal in the javelin with a season-best throw of 159-9 (48.69m).
Junior sprinter Anika Larson was the runner-up to Renschler in both the 100m (personal-best 11.43) and 200m (23.67). Wisnewski placed fourth in the 200m in 23.91 and took fifth in the 100m in a personal-best 11.54.
Rogowski claimed runner-up honors in the 400m dash, clocking 55.44.
Grace VanErp and Ella Gardner finished 2-3 in the triple jump, with VanErp leaping a personal-best 41-05.75 (12.64m) to rank ninth in NDSU history. Gardner posted a season-best 40-04.25 (12.30m).
Reagan Berg took fourth in both the 1500m (4:31.51) and 800m (2:12.55). Jaelyn Miller (4:35.40) finished sixth in the 1500m.
NDSU's Casidi Pehler placed fourth in the pole vault and fifth in the javelin, posting personal-bests in both events – 13-00.75 (3.98m) in the pole vault and 132-2 (40.29m) in the javelin.
Ashley Rusthoven placed fourth in the discus, throwing 146-4 (44.61m).
Freshman Kate Laqua placed fifth in the 400m hurdles in a personal-best 1:00.92.
Camille Deringer took sixth in the javelin with a throw of 130-2 (39.67m), climbing three places on her final attempt.
Jade Rypkema finished eighth in the 5,000m in a season-best 16:51.32.
